We can't believe Case is 6 months old, such a huge milestone. I always say it, but time just flies by. He is growing so fast. It is bittersweet. I love to see him growing and learning, but I know I am going to look back and miss these times. He loves to play, but he still loves cuddle time with mommy :)
It is getting more interesting taking his monthly pictures. He is more interested in what is around him instead of smiling for me! It is hard to keep his attention, plus he wants to put everything in his mouth, it's a workout!
He is still sleeping 10-12 hours at night (yay!) He usually goes to bed between 8 and 9. We still are big believers in the night time routine...bath, bottle, bed! (I should write a book, "Bath, Bottle, Bed" would be a cute title :)) He takes 2 naps a day, sleeps about 45min-1hr, depending on where he naps. If we are out, he usually takes a few cat naps, he doesn't want to miss anything. If he naps in his rock and play, he sleeps longer (sometimes 2 hrs!) If I am tired and want a good nap, he sleeps in the rock and play, I know, sneaky! He has finally started to sleep in his crib at night. I'm not sure if I ever blogged about it, but before I went back to work he was sleeping in his crib, but then around 4 months, he started rolling over to his tummy. He would wake himself up and start crying. After a few nights of waking up almost every hour, we moved him to the rock and play...and he was back to sleeping 12 hrs. So, for almost 2 months, he slept in his rock and play, it was more important for us to get a good nights sleep than to have him sleeping in his crib (the rock and play was in his room) He is now strong enough to move himself around and roll back the other way, and the doc said it is ok for him to sleep on his tummy now if he moves himself to that position, so we gave it another try. He is doing great, the only obstacle we are having to deal with is the spit up. If he is not really tired when we put him down, he likes to play and roll around, when he does that, he spits up. It creates a mess in the crib! Not fun changing sheets a few times before he goes to bed. I found a "sheet saver" at BuyBuyBaby. Genius! It stretches across part of the bed, so if he spits up, you can take that off and save the sheet!
He is eating a 6 oz bottle of formula every 4 hours. He eats 3 tbsp oatmeal and 1 jar of fruit for breakfast. 1 jar of veggies and 1 jar of fruit for lunch. 3 tbsp oatmeal, 1 jar of fruit, and 1 jar of veggies for dinner! He loves to eat!
He is sitting up pretty well, still a little wobbly. He gets better everyday. He loves to chew on anything (I'm pretty sure we have 2 front baby teeth coming soon) His favorite toys are soft blocks, a toy moose with rubber ears and squishy feet, sophie the giraffe, and a small beach ball. He loves to hear us sing (some day he will realize I have a terrible voice) and Chris makes up little songs for him and he thinks it is so funny. Chris is the best at getting him to laugh and smile, loves his Daddy! He enjoys bouncing in his activity gym, he can touch the floor now and is very active! He loves bath time, he likes to kick in the water.
He is the happiest baby! He rarely fusses (even with teeth coming in) He is usually happiest in the am. He wakes up talking to himself, it is so cute to hear on the monitor! So sweet!
