Cereal

We started rice cereal when Case turned 4 months! I was thrilled when the doctor said we could. I have been concerned that Case was not getting enough to eat. We learned he was getting plenty of milk, so that wasn't the problem. I think he was just ready for a little more substance!

I decided to mix it with formula to save breast milk for the bottle. I first mixed it with Infimil. When he first tried it, he made the worst face. He acted like it was the worst thing he had ever tried! It was kinda funny. We didn't know if it was because it was something new and different or if it really did taste bad.

Next, I tried mixing it with Similac. Bingo! He loved it!

When he first started eating cereal, he used his hands so much! It was the biggest mess. We have thickened the cereal now and attempt to hold his hands down and he does so well eating it!

We have since moved on to oatmeal, he seems to love it as well! The solids have helped to keep him satisfied longer. He doesn't seem as fussy around feeding times as he used to. He is also sleeping really well at night. He goes to bed between 8-9pm and wakes up between 7-8am. Woo Hoo!
